Manx utility providers are switching to paperless bills collected by men in three-corner hats.

Manx Gas and Manx Utilities say the shared system will see the men collect outstanding sums unexpectedly on secluded roads.

They say the new payments will be more transparent than posting bills when people use electricity, water or gas.

Instead of “running up” bills, people will have to “stand” – and customers will “deliver” bills rather than “receive” them.
