The RNLI says it’s launching a new lifeboat station on the Island to rescue people who fall into potholes on the roads.
The new rescue service is expected to concentrate on routes outside the TT course.
Last year, several motorists came close to drowning after driving on poorly-maintained roads.
The move comes after careful consideration about whether the inshore boats would have the range to cover some of the larger potholes on Manx roads.
