A Peel man’s been made a deemster after spouting his incisive legal knowledge on social media.

Gordy Quane was selected after questioning why people are granted bail, why “dirty nonces get away with it but a bit of weed gets you five years” and “why can’t police catch real criminals” on Facebook.

It’s thought his insightful critique of the Island’s justice system being “a fucknig joke” finally landed him his dream role.

A court spokesman said “We tried to answer his stupid questions, but then thought it’d be easier if we just put him in charge”.
