A team’s confirmed the northernmost tip of the Island is still in place after a winter of bad weather.
The government sent the expedition to Bride and the Ayres after realising nobody had checked on it recently.
It’s believed ministers didn’t want a repeat of 1962’s infamous Ballabrooish incident, when an entire village was lost to a storm.
It took authorities more than four months to declare the village gone because of arguments over imperial and metric estimations of where it used to be.
