A woman from St Johns who claimed she was bitten by the Moddhey Dhoo has admitted she just fell over a log.

Diaspora Quayle, 62, was walking around Peel Castle when she was startled by a shadow the log cast in the sunset.

But being too ashamed of her elderly foolishness, she told rescuers she’d been attacked by the legendary dog which nobody’s seen for nearly 300 years.

She later confessed the truth when medics noticed her injuries were inconsistent with her story.
